When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among others,
To make music in the heart.
-Howard Thurman, Christian theologian
Every person who met the newborn Christ was never the same after their encounter. Jesus became the center of their faith and the very foundation of their lives. Like those at the nativity, we experience hope, joy, peace, and love at Christmastime. However, these gifts and glad tidings are not meant to be enjoyed annually and then packed away; they are meant to be shared with the world Jesus came to save. As Christians, we have encountered both the newborn Christ and the risen Christ. Our journey as disciples may begin in Bethlehem, but it continues to our workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and anywhere Jesus calls us to carry out the Great Commission to spread the gospel. When we prepare room for Jesus to work in our hearts, he prepares us for the work of Christmas: to be his hands and feet. From the Impact 360 Community, we wish you a Merry Christmas!
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:10
