Our Impact community had the opportunity this morning to serve our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ by washing their feet.
We walked in to our usual time of devotion and hymns this morning and we were told we would be washing each other’s feet. My internal reaction was that I needed to make sure I was beside one of my closest friends, so I could wash their feet. Right as this thought sped into my mind Lauren said to make sure to sit beside someone you might not usually sit with. Because I had never had the opportunity to wash another’s feet before I was honestly a little freaked out at the idea, but when I got down on my knees and looked up to my brother that I was about to serve I felt an overwhelming sense of love. I actually wanted to do this for him and realized in that moment that serving him in that way was one of the best things that I could do for my heart and his.

Looking back on this morning, I can reflect feelings of embarrassment, love, peace, humility and genuine joy! It really was a blessing for all of us to be able to learn a new way to serve and to follow yet another of the patterns our Father has set for us.

Your Sister in Christ,
