Over the last few weeks, we have gotten the chance to not only watch but also participate in some incredible things that are happening in the hearts of God’s people across the States. As Christians, who are learning what we believe and why we believe it, we have the responsibility to go out and share it with others. At the end of Matthew 28, in the Great Commission, God calls His people to go to the ends of the earth to share the Gospel with the lost. One of the ways we have gotten to do that as Fellows is through our campus evangelism trips. Over the past few weeks, we have had the opportunity to go to 3 different campuses. More specifically, we just got back from Utah where we spent a week evangelizing the lost at BYU and Snow College.

Campus evangelism was something that I had personally never done before. Even though I knew that’s what the Lord had called me into for that moment, I was still hesitant. I was worried I wouldn’t have all the answers and mess up. Yet, despite my own insecurities, the Lord showed up and guided me through each of the conversations I had. It was incredible getting to watch how, through my faithfulness to walk up and start a spiritual conversation with a stranger, the Lord would give me the wisdom I needed and the words to say. Through those conversations I was challenged in my own heart. The Lord taught me that it is not my responsibility to make people come to Christ. I simply need to be faithful to where He is calling me, and He will take care of me for the rest.

Another way that I experienced God’s heart for the lost was through the lives of the people I met. On our third day in Utah, we spent the morning at a Christian Coffee Shop called Solid Rock Cafe, across the street from Snow College. The owners shared with us the mission of their shop and that the population of evangelical Christians has been on rise in that area. That afternoon, I went into the rest of my evangelism with open eyes to share the Gospel with the lost in Utah. You never know how lost people truly are until you really get to know them.

Since coming home from this trip, my eyes have been opened to how the places and cities directly around me are just as much a mission field as anywhere else I might go. There are lost people in need of the Gospel everywhere. I now feel a much greater calling to share the Gospel with the people who were not only lost, but also hungry and searching for the truth.
