Matthew 11: 28-30 says “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

This year at Impact 360 Fellows has been full of growth brought about by hardships and joy filled experiences.

One example that sticks out to me of the tangible work of the Lord in my life comes from reflecting on our trip to Utah in the fall. During this trip I remember feeling exhausted. I was weighed down physically, spiritually, and emotionally. We, the Fellows, had been witnessing and engaging in spiritual discussions with members of the LDS church for two full days. Having seen the spiritual lostness of these LDS members and hearing them proclaim a false gospel left many of us with hopelessness and a weight on our hearts.

That was until the Lord started to work.

One Wednesday night all of us had eaten dinner and were resting in the commons space we all shared while swapping stories from the day. I’m not sure how exactly it happened, but at some point, one of the guys I was sitting near randomly picked up a guitar and started playing worship songs. What began as a small group of us sitting and talking soon blew up into full grown worship session. People began trickling inside and filling the commons space.

Quickly this little barn of a space we were in was filled with the rich sound of 100 people singing praises to the God of heaven. I knew we were all tired and mentally exhausted, but that did not stop the Lord from using this moment to bring Him incredible glory.

In that moment, the Lord began a work in me which he has continued throughout all of Fellows. He whispered to me in my heaviness to lay down my burdens at His feet and accept the peace He offered. It’s hard to explain exactly how I felt in this moment, but I know I was crying and overwhelmed. That’s because the Lord has been showing me throughout this year at Fellows that there is no burden I carry which is too heavy or too light for Him to take upon himself.

My God does not just love me; he really likes me too.
