Since I have come to Impact, God has been growing my heart for evangelism and teaching me to live a life of evangelism. God has grown my heart for the lost through the evangelism experiences at Impact this year.

We went to Utah to evangelize to the Mormon community, and I also went with a small group to Zimbabwe, where we took part in a cultural immersion trip. Utah was a great experience because I was able to learn what the LDS community believes and then engage in spiritual conversations with them. This taught me not only how lost and deceived they were, but it also gave me meaningful practice for starting spiritual conversations, and I grew in the confidence of sharing my faith. I engaged with many members of the LDS church, and my heart broke for the deception that their church community was living in. I also had the privilege to go to the country of Zimbabwe, where I was able to encourage fellow believers in the local churches.

Through experiencing the poverty of a foreign country, I was able to see others having contentment and joy despite having far less than I have. I learned to be grateful for what I have, because I am blessed in so many more ways than I could even imagine.

I was able to engage in meaningful conversations with people who needed encouragement, and found that I am often best encouraged by seeking to build others up and encourage them. Overall, my experiences in Utah and Zimbabwe gave me a greater desire to start spiritual conversations with believers and non-believers alike. I learned that I can be a blessing to myself and those around me by speaking about the gospel and the goodness of the God I serve.

The gospel is needed for me as much as it is needed for those around me.
