“In the midst of the uncertainty that comes with navigating another culture, I’m hopeful that I will learn to cling to the assurance and peace that the Lord brings” – Josh Malizzo (Current Fellow)
Our team is Brazil Team 1 and we are so excited to be heading on our international immersion trip in just a couple days. We have been meeting with our teams regularly to foster community and grow as a team. We have been preparing by getting to know Brazilian culture, learning a little bit of Portuguese, and getting ready to help lead a camp while we are in the country. We are excited to see how God is going to draw us out of our comfort zones and into areas of trust and dependence on him.
One of our teammates, Leah Stine said, “Alongside practical preparation for our trip to Brazil I’ve been spending extra time preparing my heart and mind. I’ve spent time in the word asking the Lord to open my eyes to see him in every moment of this trip. Taking advice from an Impact 360 staff member who said that we must be abiding with the Lord as much as, if not more than, we are working for the Lord.”
Our team has so many things to look forward to while in Brazil! We are thrilled to work with LifeShape Brasil and join in the work they are doing to advance the Kingdom in that region. During our time there, we will get the opportunity to cultivate friendships with some of the people at LifeShape as well as kids who will be attending the camp we are hosting. We are also looking forward to sharing our testimonies with those around us, whether that be fellow Christians, strangers, or the families who will be hosting us. Every team gets the chance to stay in host homes during our time in Brazil, and this will be a great way for us to get immersed in the Brazilian culture.
Our teammate, Josh Malizzo expressed, “As I look towards Brazil, one of the things which excites me the most is how the Lord will use our discomfort to grow us in our reliance and love for Him. In the midst of the uncertainty that comes with navigating another culture, I’m hopeful that I will learn to cling to the assurance and peace that the Lord brings.”
