This year, God has taught me the art of listening and the art of vulnerability.
I have never had such a healthy community before, and God knew I needed Impact 360.
I have made friendships this year that taught me and showed me that it is possible to have sisters in Christ who you can depend on and be completely vulnerable with. I have not had a group of friends whom I could trust in a healthy, thriving community. With that type of community, I was able to see myself in a different light, and was able to allow others to carry my burdens, which helped me see more of God, and the agape love He gives to us through others. I am so thankful for this perspective, and it has inspired me to continue to give and speak the truth and love, and help cultivate a lifestyle like the community I have experienced at Impact into the world.
Additionally, God taught me surrender and trust, and I have seen more of Him this year. In South Africa, I had to truly surrender and trust God in situations I had never encountered before, and it showed me God’s divine power and his love of protection over His children.
He also taught me a heart for the nations. My heart for the world has grown more evident, and I continue to pray for different nations and countries. God has given me a new definition of community: listening, hearing, and vulnerability. Hearing Him is not that difficult when you read His word and you exercise trust.
I have also gained confidence in God and confidence in myself. The adversary has tried to steal my voice and make me feel as if I do not have one, or it is not good enough, and this year has helped me realize the lies that I was believing and how to take my thoughts captive. Your mind is very powerful, and the devil is very subtle. However, God is very gentle and intentional; He is always faithful.
I have also learned how to be God’s friend. I have not only seen Him as my father but also my divine friend, and the beautiful aspect of the mutual relationship in knowing He wants me back, and wants me to be a friend back to Him, which is one of the most precious gifts I could ever receive from Him, besides His grace and His Son.
This year has given me an ocean of learning, a field of love, and roots of truth. Thank you, God, for Impact 360 Fellows, Class 20!!!!
