I came into this year at Impact 360 expecting to find community.
Boy, was that expectation met and exceeded!
This year has been especially tough because of things going on at home, and the Impact 360 community has tried to come around me as much as they can through this difficult season.
I have often said that “God knew what He was doing when he put me at Impact right when He did.”
And it’s true.
In the past, friendships have been rough, but now I can confidently say that I have a small group of close friends who won’t leave me and whom I love dearly! These friends have kept me accountable, given me space to grieve, hugged me when needed, and allowed me to help them.
Not only do I have that close circle of friends who I would do just about anything for, but there is a whole group of ninety-five-ish other people who will support me and bring community to me!
I may not be friends with all Class 20 Fellows, but I sure do love them with a sisterly love that only living nine-months in a spiritually-forming and gospel-centered community can bring around!
This year, during International Immersion and on our Washington D.C. trip, is when I truly felt this community.
For Immersion, I had the joy to gain really close bonds with my friends, and I got to see the people on my team grow (in the way they viewed the Nations and God’s mission) through our experiences with the South African people.
During D.C., I was dealing with some extreme grief, and my friends (and leaders) did not leave me to cry in loneliness, but they cheered me up or simply allowed me to cry with them.
My friends, while they aren’t perfect, show me the beauty of what christian community should be. All thanks to our shared experiences at Impact 360!
Come join in these experiences!!
