The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever…

This week emotionally has been a roller coaster.  Although I have had a lot of heartache and sadness, the Lord is Good and He works ALL things together for Good.  I am convinced of this.  I have had 30 people (including our SLC’s [Student Living and Learning Coordinator]) coming beside me and walking with me through this. Not only have they walked with me through these things, but they have encouraged (imparted courage) to me all week.  I am so thankful and blessed to have these people living by my side every day.
In class this past week, Dr. Glenn Gentry, a Philosophy professor from Columbia International University came to have a three day module with us. It was mind blowing.  He took an interesting approach that I have never seen before. He asked us questions the first day of class. He did not answer questions for us but rather took on the identity of a Naturalist, Post Modernist, Deist etc.  He put on this facade and pretended to be 100% convinced that “his worldview” was the correct one. It was challenging but really good to test our faith.
Tonight was an eye opening experience. During our weekly hall meeting, the girls broke off and had a discussion on what love truly looks like and if we as a community are sharing in that. Earlier in this e-mail, I mentioned I felt as if I am so blessed to have people loving me here the way that they do, but others have not felt the same way. I think we so often try to be fake. I want to encourage all of you to examine your hearts, be real with people, and see Jesus in people, not their faults or inabilities. Christ loved you when you were dead in your sin, but 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation. The old has GONE; the new has COME!”
