Student Blog Written By: Ethné Mathias, Fellows
Nine months ago, I didn’t know what a Godly community looked like. I doubted it was possible to be known or loved, and I didn’t know how to be myself or let others love me, but now I have learned so much about God and experienced His love and grace through his faithful followers.
It has been the little things that have made this community priceless. I have been loved so well, from hugs to thoughtful notes, to being prayed for, to celebrating others and being celebrated, and to people knowing all of my sin and struggles and bringing me into God’s grace and calling me higher.
The first week of Impact, evangelism terrified me.
I admired those bold enough to share the gospel, but I never believed that would be me. I was frozen by fear of accidentally driving people away from God and being uncomfortable.
But now, I deeply desire to share the life I’ve been given, to engage in spiritual conversations, and to love other Image-bearers through seeing them, listening to their stories, and pointing them to their Author. I am still scared, but I finally trust God is in control and know my fear is unimaginably outweighed by the joy of planting seeds for His kingdom.
To those who prayed for me and supported me this year, I can’t imagine what my life would have looked like without Fellows.
This year, I have grown in a community that will stay with me, no matter how far, until we are all reunited for eternity. I have loved this season more than I can express, and by God’s grace, it is through your generosity and faithfulness that I am here.
There are not enough words to thank you for that. God has been glorified this year through Class 20, and I cannot wait to see all He does in the future.
We believe that when a student is rooted in truth, they become a catalyst for the Kingdom wherever they go. Help us continue to forge disciples who possess the resolve to stay faithful and the tools to make disciples. Your investment in the Multiply Fund makes this transformation possible.
