Student Blog Written By: Kinsley Vogel, Fellows
Coming into Fellows, I struggled with being intentional with my relationship with the Lord and also battling with the idea that I lack nothing in Him. It was difficult for me to seek Him first and understand that in Him I have everything that I need.
As my Fellows year progressed, I continued to have a hard time believing that He is sufficient and will provide for me despite my lack of faith and inconsistent dedication to Him.
In January, I headed to Zimbabwe with an amazing team. I was continuing to not fully believe that I have all that I need in the Lord and that He is faithful to me. Despite the countless times that I had seen examples of the Lord’s faithfulness, I struggled to comprehend that I lack nothing in my Heavenly Father, and this also led to a lack of devotion and intentionality with Him.
There was not a specific time in Zimbabwe when I immediately began to believe that the Lord is sufficient for me, but throughout the month and my time with the local people, I slowly began to have more faith and confidence in the Lord. I found myself being stretched constantly and having no choice but to rely on Him. I began to crave intentional, set-aside time with God and began leaning on Him. Coming back to campus, I felt totally changed. Psalm 23 really began to stick out to me as I meditated on it. My trust in the Lord felt real, and I truly believed for the first time that I really do lack nothing because He is my shepherd.
Following my time at Impact, I plan on pursuing a degree at a local community college in my home state of Texas. As I live out my faith back home, I desire to continue in seeking out and pursuing the Lord intentionally. The Lord truly transformed my faith in my time in Zimbabwe and caused me to put my trust in Him alone. He taught me that I truly do have all that I need and lack nothing.
