When I arrived on campus on August 22, 2025, I remember wondering if I was the only one who felt a lot of shame for past experiences. I wondered if I would fit in.
At first, it was so hard. The first two days, I cried and wanted to go home.
God had a different plan.
I’ve realized that being a disciple of Christ is not a recommendation. It’s a lifestyle. We are CALLED to do this as Christian’s. That has been a game-changer.
I noticed a big shift in my relationship with God during the cultural immersion. I didn’t realize how much I needed to process through. God sent amazing authority figures in my life during that trip to really push me to do things I did not want to do, and through that, I became much stronger in my relationship with God.
Something I’ve noticed this year is that everyone desires to worship. I have never been in a place where I truly felt like I could worship so freely. I experienced worship on my knees for the first time. The joy I have in this community when we worship is something I hadn’t experienced before this. A small sliver of what is to come.
My journey continues after Impact. I will hopefully be attending Mississippi College after doing some Community College. There, I will be looking into Business or Communications, hopefully.
I want to show the love of Christ anywhere and everywhere I go. Not just in words, but also in m my actions. Hosting Bible studies, getting coffee with a girl to talk about life, leading a worship night, etc.
To anyone who supported, donated, prayed, or was a part of this journey: Thank you.
My life has been changed in ways I never imagined. From a timid person who thought praying for random people on the streets was awkward, to a girl who DESIRES to do those things.
I could not have done it with my family, friends, community, and my big Impact 360 family, and most of all, the GRACE OF GOD.
I will forever remember these nine months. Thank you.
